Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Find a Tradesmen (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal information when you use our marketplace to connect homeowners with tradespeople.

Last updated: 9 July 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you create an account, post a job, submit a quote or application, or contact us. This may include:

  • Name and email address
  • Account role (homeowner or tradesperson)
  • Job details such as description, location, and budget range
  • Messages and quotes submitted through the platform

We also collect basic technical information when you use the site, such as browser type and pages visited, to help operate and improve the service.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Display job listings and connect homeowners with tradespeople
  • Process applications, quotes, and related marketplace activity
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about the service
  • Maintain security and prevent misuse of the platform

3. How information is shared

Information you post as part of a job or application may be visible to other users involved in that marketplace interaction—for example, homeowners can see applicant details for their own jobs, and tradespeople can see job information they browse or apply to.

We use trusted service providers to host the platform and provide authentication and database services. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to operate the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the platform.

4. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal or operational requirements. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Deleting an account deletes that person's jobs, including any street address still stored.

A job listing stores the area and postcode. The street address is collected only when a quote is accepted. It can be opened by the homeowner, the hired tradesperson, and platform admins. Quoting tradespeople see the area and postcode only.

The street address is deleted when the job is cancelled, and 30 days after the job is completed or reviewed. The homeowner can delete it sooner from a finished or cancelled job. An admin can delete it from the job record.

Insurance and identity documents are uploaded by the tradesperson and opened only by admins during review. Other users see a verified badge, not the file.

5. Your choices

You can update certain account details through your dashboard where that feature is available. You may also contact us to ask about access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We will respond to reasonable requests in line with applicable law.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including access controls and industry-standard hosting practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact
